So last night M convinced me to go on a bike ride with him. He did so by promising that he wouldn’t leave me in his dust like he has made a habit of doing the last forever times we have ridden together
(yeah, last time he told his “morning”-sick, loving wife that her grandmother could beat her up the hill)
Last night though, was a lovely experience – aside from the fact that I had to stop due to a foot cramp, only to have the other foot cramp up when trying to push off after the first had run its course.. But the trail was nice, we saw other families walking their babies and I got to see another end of our town. I have to say though, that I’m pretty sure, from what I can remember of my previous life, that it is much easier to accomplish physical tasks when not being kicked in the gut the whole time.
(side bar- we had had an appmt with our midwives earlier that day and #1 – the baby is head down – wooohooo! There’s a history of breech babes in my fam- and #2 from the time that M could feel the baby they have played a game where the baby will kick Michael’s hand and M will push back, and then the baby kicks back, and so on – a game played at my stomach’s expense, but a cute one at that. So yesterday when one of my midwives as checking the position of the baby she was greeted with a kick for her every push on my belly. Every one thought this was hilarious and the other two gals wanted to give it a try. If I –of course- was not already convinced of my baby’s great intelligence, I might be persuaded into thinking that it is diagnosably ADHD. We got a lively one to say the lease.)
So, as it goes, I hope to enjoy many more summer evening rides with my husband – and ever so soon I fully plan to purchase a kiddyseat for M’s bike so that after our child is born, he can feel what its like to push more than just his lil booty up a hill… from my experience this kid is only going to get bigger ;)
